Senior Product Designer at Octopus Deploy

2022 - 2025

Octopus Deploy is a leading solution for continuous software delivery at scale. Joined in 2022 as Senior Product Designer for the Frontend Foundations team, my role was to help build the new design system along with improvements to the visual frontend platform.
In the first six months I identified a series of gaps in the shared design system components. This led to the proposal and roll out of a new shared component library to streamline the design process. As a result, designers were able to prototype more rapidly and accurately, and allowed for easier contributions to the component library.
In the course of my time with Octopus I contributed to the roll out of multiple UX and UI enhancements to the outdated frontend systems, including improved navigtions and layouts. I also worked closely with the engineering team to implement many design system and component enhancements that drove positive impact across the wider organisation.

Senior UX/UI Designer at Soda Digital

2020 - 2022

Soda Digital is a boutique software development company based in Sydney and Brisbane. As Senior UX/UI Designer I led projects from briefing through to wireframes, prototypes and all the way through to final product delivery and testing. I collaborated closely with both in-house and remote engineers to ensure cohesive execution across every stage of development.
One of the key projects I worked on was for Social Ventures Australia, where I conducted an in-depth UX investigation into the project requirements, then designed and prototyped a custom survey platform tailored to their needs. Another major project involved Kingspan Water Tanks, where I enhanced the design of their existing e-commerce platform and developed a comprehensive design system for implementation within Elementor.
A particular highlight of my role was building robust design system templates in Figma. These systems significantly streamlined our workflow and enabled more efficient, consistent, and flexible design and prototyping across multiple projects.

Senior Digital Designer at Atlas Agency / Born & Raised

2017 - 2018

Atlas Agency was a boutique digital studio partnered with branding agency Born & Raised.
As a senior digital designer with Atlas, I was proud to lead projects from the initial client briefings through to UX workshops, prototyping, and concept development, continuing right through to final product delivery and testing. I led a team of in-house front and back-end developers to ensure high-quality outcomes across the project lifecycle.
One of the key projects I worked on was a complete website redesign for The Hour Glass, which resulted in a significant increase in visitor traffic, a boost in returning readership, and notable growth in subscriber numbers. I also led the redesign of the Mortgage Choice website, where I helped reduce user drop-off rates and increased overall user engagement through the use of tailored, user-centric content strategies.
In addition to project execution, I introduced improvements to how project files were managed, developed best-practice solutions for setting up files in Sketch, and implemented Atomic Design methodologies to promote modular, scalable design systems. I also enhanced our internal processes by improving the setup and usage of business project management tools like JIRA and Confluence, which led to better workflow efficiency and team productivity.

UX/UI Product Designer at Chocolate Coded / TIKS

2013 - 2016

From sign-in management, onsite wayfinding to safety compliance checklists, Chocolate Coded's product TIKS was at an exciting point of expansion and growth.
As sole designer at Chocolate Coded, I helped lead projects from the initial briefing through to final market place product. Responsibilities included UX workshops, managing projects, overseeing rigorous product testing, and maintaining direct relationships with clients. I worked with a diverse client portfolio that included large-scale businesses in sectors such as mining and infrastructure, security, medical, and government.
One of the standout projects I led was the development of the TIKS Interactive Wayfinder app, used by clients including the City of Melbourne, Geelong Regional Library, and Healthscope. The app significantly increased visitor engagement and improved the discovery of facility services and locations. I also worked on the TIKS Safety Auditor product app for Virgin Australia, which contributed to greater worker productivity and a substantial reduction in manual paper-based processes. Additionally, I redesigned the brand identity and website for Huntsman Security, focusing on visual storytelling aligned with their core values. The new website structure allowed users to more easily find relevant industry-specific content, enhancing both usability and engagement.
Throughout my time in this role, I sharpened my practical skills in user experience and interface design, including discovery, persona creation, workflow mapping, and interactive prototype testing using InVision. I also deepened my understanding of front-end development practices, while strengthening my capabilities in project management and building strong, collaborative relationships with clients.
