Marry the Man.
Digital Design. UX/UI.
Marry The Man is the place for gay men to be inspired and dream of happy ever afters. Whether it's style and grooming tips, travel ideas, entertainment or everything involved in planning a wedding, M+M is one of the first websites launched in Australia aimed at helping gay men create new ways of celebrating their commitment to one another.
With the new branding developed and a concept page approved, my role was to further develop the website concept to a working model that could be built and implemented in an extremely short turn around time. The core backend was build in Umbraco, which provided an easy-to-use platform for a client with limited digital experience to create dynamic articles and content.

Expectations build trust
Challenges arose when we needed to design and engineer a dual column article page. Here, images would vertically scroll in and out with selected blocks of text, enhancing the narrative of the article. Due to the time and technical limitations it was unlikely we would be able to turn this concept into reality.
By sitting down with the client at the start of the project, we were able to set clear expectations. Knowing some ideas may not work, they were always happy to workshop other ideas. This produced a trust in each other to continuously deliver the best possible outcome.
In the end we took this challenge away for further thinking, and after a great deal of creative brainstorming with our engineering team we eventually found a solution that exceeded client expectations.

Clean responsive design with luxury editorial style.

Along with the website, a marketing email template was designed and built using Campaign Monitor. Additional social media assets were created for the client to easily add there own content as they needed.
In the end we were pleased to deliver a website that overcame some intersting technical challenges, such as dynamic dual moving columns. Moreover, the client was thrilled with the outcome, having delivered a product that exceeded their expectations.
